Privacy Policy
Break Point ("the app", "we", "us") is a tennis match-tracking application developed and operated independently. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account information
When you register, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive a Google account identifier and your verified email from Google's OAuth service. We never receive your Google password.
b) Match and player data
All match records, statistics, player profiles, and rival profiles you create are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices.
c) Preferences and settings
Your in-app preferences (theme, language, tracking mode, custom tags) are stored locally on your device and, where applicable, on our servers.
d) Session tokens
When you log in, we issue a session token stored locally on your device. Sessions expire automatically after 30 days.
e) Device information
We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To store and display your match history and statistics
- To send transactional emails (password reset codes) via our email service provider
- To enforce tier-based usage limits on the number of matches tracked per month
- To respond to support and account-deletion requests
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app's functionality.
3. Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third party.
4. Data Retention
- Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity.
- Password reset codes expire after 15 minutes.
- When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed within 24 hours.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data (via the app or by emailing hello@matchpoint.app)
- Export your match history (available in the app via Settings → Export)

6. Children's Privacy
Break Point is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard practices including bcrypt password hashing, HTTPS for all communications, and bearer-token session management. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
